The Autumn Edit

September 26th, 2016

September 26th, 2016

With the evenings drawing in, we’re starting to change up our kit to make room for some of the hot new launches arriving on counter for Autumn.  Welcome to our Autumn Edit – a selection of our favourite new products to take you through ‘til Spring.

Face

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

We love:  So many cushion foundations offer lightweight coverage, but we love this marriage between the portable, breathable texture of the cushion and the much-loved formula of Lancôme’s Teint Idole foundation.

Lancome Cushion

Burberry Bright Glow Foundation

We love:  Its fresh appearance thanks to white light-enhancing pigments, comfortable feel and skincare-rich ingredients.  Perfect for dull and dehydrated skin which needs perking up.

Laura Mercier Candleglow Concealer

We love:  A portable pen with a built-in applicator to dispense a beautiful light-reflecting concealer.  Not great if you’re after heavy duty coverage, but a nice subtle lift to the under-eye area without leaving it cakey.  Available next month.

LM Candleglow

Urban Decay Naked Skin Colour Correctors

We love:  Colour correctors are handy in any form, but these fluid versions blend like a dream and come in all the colours you could need.  The Peach shade is perfect for knocking back shadows under the eyes while still appearing natural.

Eyes

Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny Liner

We love:  The original is an excellent liquid eyeliner at an affordable price, and this new slinky Skinny version offers the same depth of pigment with an even more precise nib.  As perfect for adding precise details to bodypaints as it is a delicate cat eye flick.

Supercat Skinny

SUQQU Deep Nuance Eyes

We love:  These soufflé-light cream eyeshadows have a gorgeous workable texture – the cushion-like silicone gel base forms a flexible veil over the eyelids rather than settling into any creases.  The colour options are all wearable yet interesting shades – we love this gold-softened burgundy.

Bourjois Volume Reveal Mascara

We love:  The brush on the mascara is brilliant – a double row of two different lengths of bristles means that it catches every lash.  As with all Bourjois mascara the pigment is deep excellent quality for the price.  The handy magnifying mirror on the tube is a nice touch.

BOURJOIS VolumeRevealMascara

Face Lace Dazzliner

We love:  The colours contained in these sleek adornments are unreal.  A shifting holographic spectrum, perfect for a stylistic shoot or jazzing up a conventional eye look.  We’re hooked!

Lips

Chanel Rouge Allure Ink

We love:  Lucia Pica’s rouge theme for her first Chanel collection went down a storm, but the product which snagged our attention was the unusual Lip Ink.  Chanel’s own take on the liquid lipstick trend is one of featherlight weight and luminous colour – simply stunning.

Chanel Ink

Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer

We love:  Another take on the trend, this time a spin off from Clinique’s fabulous Pop lipstick line.  The colour selection is fantastic on these – we’ll be wearing the watermelon Ripe Pop paired with neutral eyes for a final burst of colour as summer fades.

Ripe Pop

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick

We love:  The colours.  The pigment.  The texture.  These lipsticks can do no wrong, and we applaud them for offering plenty of ‘unusual’ shades alongside the expected reds, pinks and nudes.

MUFE Artist Rouge

By Terry Rouge Expert Click Stick

We love:  It’s always nice to see brands experiment when it comes to something as fundamental as a lipstick.  By shrinking the size of the bullet they’re as precise as a pencil, with the intensity of a lipstick and comfort of a balm.  We expect these will be flying off the shelves.

Palettes

Guerlain 5 Couleurs Palettes

We love:  Between the silky-smooth powders and the perfectly paired shade options, Guerlain have hit a home run with these seasonal palettes.  Each palette contains a base shadow, two subtle shades and two smoky shades to vamp it up in a mix of satin, matte and metallic finishes.

Bobbi Brown City Palettes

We love:  Three very wearable, very lovely palettes inspired by Bobbi’s three favourite cities, these are a sure-fire hit.  From the illustration on the case to the shade selections, we’ll be collecting all of them.  Enjoy four eyeshadows and a complimentary blush in each one.

Rouge Bunny Rouge ‘Caliche’ Palette

We love:  The bang-on-trend quartet of dusky purples, covering everything from rosy ecru to earthy aubergine.  This huge pan of shadow is also brilliant value for money given the quality, pigmentation and texture.

rbr

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Muse Palette

We love:  Who doesn’t love a bit of gold on the eyes over the holiday season?  Wear gold for grown-ups with this stunning new palette.  With different undertones woven with golden shimmer, mix and match to suit every skintone and add that ‘pop’ with the bright glitter corner.  It’s limited edition so act quickly!
