March 29th, 2016

In five weeks time, Warpaint Magazine and the United Make-up Artists Expo will be joining forces once more, along with Make-Up Designory, for a make-up competition unlike any we have ever hosted.  Ideal for film and TV students looking to stretch themselves, we have a unique genderbending and ageing make-up competitionwhere contestants will be required to age their chosen female model into a male character in excess of 60 years of age.

Interested?  We have all of the details down below.  If you’d like to enter, please email by Friday 8th April!

This competition is an international student competition designed to challenge a make-up effects artist in the detailed and timeless skill of ageing, with the inclusion of gender transformation of a model.  The make-up artist will be required to apply hand-made prosthetics and employ the make-up techniques required to age a young female model to appear as an elderly male character.  All wigs and additional pieces to be pre-set before arrival.  The pre-set will be judged as part of the competition.

The competition participant will provide professional prosthetics, incorporating hand laid hair techniques, to age a model and change their gender appearance from female to male.  The participant will provide a female model within an age range of 25-30 years old.  The competition participant will successfully transform the female model to an aged male character, in excess of 60 years old.

Eligible applicants will be current students or graduates of a recognised make-up school or training program.  Eligible graduates will have completed their program within two years of the competition date.  Each entrant must be over 16 years of age on the date of the competition.  Each applicant will submit a completed application form by email to by no later than 23:59 Friday April 8th 2016 and MUST provide contact details for themselves and their tutor (if still studying) – successful applicants will be notified by email by Friday April 15th 2016

Each applicant will be required to submit three photos (maximum of 2mb per file) illustrating the quality and expertise of their prosthetic make-up application skills.
