Time is ticking away, bringing us ever closer to Professional Beauty London and our brand new competition categories. Have you registered to take part yet? As ever, we’ve assembled a brilliant team of judges who are working professionals in their own categories, often with teaching experience as well, so you can expect some great advice and constructive criticism.

Bodypainting – Catriona Finlayson and Jennie Roberts
Theme – The Circus Comes To Town
Our favourite bodypainting judges are back, bringing their extensive knowledge of the craft to the table. The founders of bodypainting festival Paintopia, they have worked on a huge array of projects and are extremely knowledgeable about the latest products and techniques. Don’t believe us? Read our full interview with them. You can even catch them creating their own Circus-themed paint on our Warpaint Live Stage on Sunday 28th.
Film & TV – Mike Peel and Hannah Wing
Theme – Post-Apocalypse
The dream team reconvene for our new Film & TV category. Mike is a very experienced SFX artist who has worked on everything from Casino Royal to The Descent. The company director of Rogue Creations sfx is an experienced educator as well, teaching at colleges across the country. Hannah Wing, with her background in perfoming arts, has many years of experience working within film and TV, commercials and with corporate clients. Her work has included a wide variety of hair and make-up designs incorporating special effects, barbering and wigs. Hannah also regularly styles and manages costume/wardrobe design, so she’ll be keeping an eye out for your wig work and finishing touches.
Real Beauty – Armand Beasley
Theme – Transformation from Beach Babe to Full Moon Party – 1 model, 2 looks, 3 hours, 4 key products
Returning to London is the brilliant Armand Beasley, an in-demand celebrity make-up artist who has worked with Goldie Hawn, Natasha Hamilton and Michelle Keegan. We’ve worked with Armand many times and have witnessed first-hand his professionalism, great advice and stunning creations. For these fun beachy designs he is sure to be looking for great use of colour, savvy product choices and a well thought-out look. You can find him kicking off our Live Stage on Sunday as well.
Runway – Joey Bevan
Theme – Tribal
If anyone has the eye for our Runway category it’s Joey Bevan. After quickly established his name within the fashion and beauty industry thanks to his creative flair and eye for design, he has been tipped by national press as ‘one to watch’, working alongside celebrities and clients within the music and fashion industry and giving the client a whole fashion package. Having worked with make-up artists extensively on shoots, including collaboration with Kryolan for their Suitcase Full Of Dreams campaign, he knows exactly what will make the cameras start clicking away.
Assisting with the judging of our Runway and Real Beauty categories are four very talented MUAs – Chloe Gamblin, Vikki Muse, Kelly Hicks and Sarah Goodall. As founding and key members of Sparklebox Studios, they have all had experience with judging our Warpaint Competitions, casting a key eye over proceedings as our Floor Judges. With years of teaching experience between them all, they know what to keep an eye out for.
#InstaWarpaint – Rankin
Theme – Festival Looks
We know that not everyone can make it down to London for our Warpaint Championships, which is why we created our brand new photographic category #InstaWarpaint. To judge our entries, we have none other than the critically acclaimed photographer, Rankin. The winner will receive one of Rankin’s photography books, a Warpaint trophy and a certificate, and the winning image will be used in Warpaint Magazine. As this isn’t occurring at Professional Beauty there are some slightly different rules – please do check our competition pack (here). The closing date is Friday 12th Feb, don’t forget!
