January 6th, 2016
Before you know it, it’s that time again. The Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and Academy Awards to name but a few, celebrate the hottest films and actors from 2015. The miles of the red carpet, the beautiful dresses, stunning coiffured hair and dazzling make-up fills our timelines and we love it. But we’re more interested in the talent behind the camera and will be watching with interest who gets the nod for the shortlists for make-up and hair in the various ceremonies.
BAFTA announces their nominees this Friday, The Academy Awards has already announced their long list, with the final shortlist coming out on January 14th. Those in the running for a little gold statue are:
Lesley Vanderwalt, Elka Wardega and Damian Martin for Mad Max: Fury Road
Dave Elsey and Lou Elsey for Mr Holmes
Gloria Casney and Joel Harlow for Black Mass
Love Larson and Eva Von Bahr for The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared
Howard Berger, Christopher Gallaher and Katherine Gordon for Concussion
Sian Grigg, Duncan Jarman and Robert Pandini for The Revenant
Christine Blundell and Audrey Doyle for Legend
For the BAFTAs we’re hoping to see a nod to Jan Sewell for both The Danish Girl and Everest. As beauty seems to be a little lacking with the Oscar nominees in would be fab to see Naomi Donne’s Cinderella or Patricia Regan’s Carol. Also in with a shout could be Morna Ferguson for Brooklyn, Gretchen Davis for Steve Jobs and even Sian Grigg for Ex Machina, all will be revealed this Friday!
