Are you excited for Professional Beauty Ireland this weekend? If you’re entering our Warpaint Competitions and looking forward to receiving feedback from our incredible new judges – not to mention the chance of winning up to €250 – then listen up! We’ve distilled all of the information you need for the upcoming showdown into one handy post.
Online entry closes at 10am on Thursday 8th September, so if you’re interested in adding some great experience to your CV be sure to register here before then. To get 50% off entering the Warpaint Competitions, insert the code DIWP1 in the discount code box during your registration (discount valid for new online competition entries only)
If you miss that date, you are able to sign up on the day as well. Please arrive early if you’re looking to sign up on the day.
Where?
We’ll see you bright and early at the RDS Centre in Dublin. Head straight to the Competition Area, as seen here on the show floor map.
When?
Monday 12th October. It’s a full day of competing, with all four categories running at the same time, although you should have some time before the awards ceremony in which you can explore the show. The competition timetable is as follows:
8:30 – 9:30 Registration for all categories
9:50 – 10:00 Briefing
10:00 – 15:00 Special FX
10:00 – 15:00 Bodypainting
10:30 – 12:30 Fashion & Editorial
13:30 – 16:00 Photography and judging
16:00 – 16:30 Awards Ceremony at the PB Live Stage (back of the hall)
If you’re competing in SFX or Bodypainting you and your models have a 30 minute break built into your time which we will alert you to. You are discouraged from, and may be penalised for, working during this time in order to fully allow your model to rest.
During registration and prior to your category’s start time you are allowed to lay out your tools and equipment, but must not touch your model. Hair must be unprepped. Models can change either before or after the competition is running, but not during; the competition area will be closed off to ensure other competitors aren’t distracted. Similarly mobile phones are not to be used other than as a silent timer, although we will be giving you regular time updates.
What do I need?
Please print out and complete the model release form (found here), and hand them in to the Warpaint team during registration. Competitors are expected to bring all of their own equipment, as well as arrange their own model. Please bring your own towels/water/tissues etc, as well as a small bin with a lid and plastic liner. Each category also requires some form of mood board or inspiration folio.

What’s the prize?
Each category has medals awarded to those who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The judges will select the Best Pro Artist from across all four categories, who will win €250, as well as awarding the best student the Rising Star award and €100. Both Pro Artist and Rising Star will also win goody bags full of amazing products.
Scores are assigned to each placing and then tallied across the categories, and the college whose students scored the most points will be awarded the College Cup!
