We are ridiculously excited to announce that the one-and-only Joey Bevan will be joining the judging team for Professional Beauty North’s Warpaint Competition later this month. Heading up the fashion category, Joey will bring his extensive experience as a designer, fashion and hair stylist to the floor of Manchester Central for the first time after working with us at this year’s London show.

Joey is the go-to man for pro Goliath Kryolan when any styling is needed, and was one of the team to create the stunning Kryolan Calendar ‘Suitcase full of make-up Dreams’ last year, many MUAs saw his work at the latest Kryolan Masterclass last month in London. He has quickly established his name within the fashion and beauty industry and has been tipped by national press as ‘one to watch’, working alongside celebrities and clients within the music and fashion industry, giving the client a whole fashion package.

Since working freelance within the industry, Joey has used his creative flair and eye for design to create and construct beautiful one-off garments. With the success of his first introductory fashion show in the summer of 2010, he was head-hunted for Britain’s Next Top Model Live 2010 and The Ideal Home Show 2011. His designs and styling has featured on XFactor, BINTM, ANTM, Vogue IT, INSTYLE, MTA and many more editorials, TV and music videos. In July 2014 he was commissioned to create 30 bespoke garments for the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace and even met The Queen. His styling credits include: HRH Prince Charles, D&G, DIOR, The Saturdays, Stooshe, Jessie J, Diana Vickers, Eliza Doolittle, Aggro Santos, Lydia Rose Bright, Janice Dickenson, Kate Magowen, Melanie Sykes, Kimberly Walsh and many more. His most recent styling can be seen on beautiful Chloe Jasmine who is currently residing in the Big Brother House.

Joey has a phenomenal social media following and is in much demand, so we feel very privileged to be able to bring him to Manchester. The lucky winner of his category could also get the chance to work with Joey and for the winning overall pro and student there’s a cash prize too. For any serious fashionista wanting to expand their knowledge and experience, competing for Joey and getting the chance to show him their ideas is a golden opportunity not to be missed.
The theme for this year’s fashion category at Professional Beauty North is Street Style. Often associated with youth culture, it’s fashion that has emerged not from the couture houses, but from grassroots. Joey will be looking for entrants to give their interpretation of one of the major trends. Whether it’s Teddy Boys, Rockers, Rastas, Hippies, Punks, Skinheads, Goths, Hipsters, Preppy, Hip Hop, Greasers, Tumblr or Boho, make-up needs to be bold and dynamic with clothes that complement and make a statement. The accompanying Mood Board will storyboard the inspiration and vision. Competitors will talk through this with Joey and walk him through their creation. He’ll be keen to see male and female models and wants a complete look, with carefully sourced clothing and great looking hair that work perfectly with the make-up.
