Gary Cockerill reveals his new book, Simply Glamorous

Make-up artist Gary Cockerill is best known for his glamorous, sultry make-up style. In his new book, Simply Glamorous, Gary proves that with a little knowledge and practice, everyone can use make-up to enhance or disguise so they feel confident in their appearance. He begins by demonstrating what he loves most about make-up: its ability to transform. By applying four different looks to one face, he shows how the same ‘blank canvas’ can be natural, sophisticated, glamorous or dramatic. He then presents 15 breathtaking makeovers on women of all ages, explaining step by step how to re-create the looks.

Divided into ‘Face’, ‘Eyes’ and ‘Lips’, the transformations range from nude and natural – ‘Barely There’, ‘Sun-kissed Goddess’ and ‘Girl Next Door’ – to high octane glamour – ‘Showgirl’, ‘Bombshell’ and ‘Glamour Puss’. They illustrate every aspect of make-up, from contouring, to false eyelashes, to wearing colour, and include the iconic looks that Gary is always asked to create – the smoky eye, the fifties flick and the red lip. ‘Tutorials’ address key topics in greater detail, such as skincare, foundation, contouring and application techniques for eyes and lips.

Too Faced Cosmetics has announced the launch of its Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar (£39), the latest eyeshadow palette, which follows on from the original cocoa-infused collection. The new palette is a deeper, warmer version of the original and features 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused shadows in matte and shimmer shades of warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate and pops of blueberry. The palette also includes the signature Too Faced how-to Glamour Guide with three looks to get started. The brand has also unveiled its Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush (£25). The long-wear, fade-proof, smudge-proof formula provides cheeks with a flush of colour fo up to 16 hours. Pigment-rich shades are suitable for every skin tone, with six shades available.

 

AOFM Pro Academy to open satellite academy in Belfast

London-based make-up academy AOFM Pro is opening of a brand new satellite academy in Belfast. AOFM Pro is known for its work backstage at New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week and will now make a presence in Northern Ireland. From 1 July, aspiring artists in Ireland will be able to take full advantage of the expertise that AOFM Pro offers. Three-week courses will cover the full spectrum of professional hair and make-up for fashion, editorial, runway, and bridal, following AOFM Pro’s philosophy of welcoming a different tutor/practicing artist each day to provide students with a complete range of knowledge and skills. The Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion is a curated collection of 16 shades from nudes to browns, corals to reds, pinks to berries and mauves to plums, each infused with the scent of red currant, mandarin orange and apple blossom. Also launching is the Pure Color Envy Lip Volumizer (£23), which is formulated with hyla-fill complex, a blend of hyaluronic spheres and hydrating agents to help moisturise and smooth lips. The balmy texture glides on easily with a cooling sensation, and can be worn alone or under lip colour.

BECCA reveals new Beach Tint Lip Souffle

BECCA Cosmetics has announced the launch of its Beach Tint Lip Souffle collection (£20), which combines the BECCA Beach Tint and Shimmering Skin Perfector to create a lightweight marbled gloss. The product features a double dose of pigment and shimmer and leaves the lips feeling smooth and soft due to the contained brown algae extract. The long wearing formula, which isn’t sticky and doesn’t create any feathering, is available in six shades, including: Papaya/Topaz, Quava/Opal, Watermelon/Opal, Raspberry/Opal, Fig/Topaz and Lychee/Topaz.
