LCF’s Fashion Space Gallery unveils Alexander McQueen make-up exhibition

Fashion Space Gallery, located at London College of Fashion, has announced the launch of Warpaint: Alexander McQueen and Make-Up, the first ever exhibition to explore McQueen’s catwalk make-up. Coinciding with the V&A’s major retrospective Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, the exhibition will run from 30 April to 7 August 2015 and aims to unravel the process and inspirations behind the collections by examining key beauty looks developed by Val Garland, Peter Philips, Topolino and Sharon Dowsett. On display will be a total of 22 looks from 13 collections which have been grouped into three central themes: Amplified, where facial features are obscured and exaggerated; Deviated, where make-up goes beyond the traditional areas and covers other parts of the bod; and Stripped, where the subtle look intensifies the meaning of the collection. Additionally, visitors are also able to see themselves in select McQueen make-up looks, through Holition’s specially created app, ‘FACE’. Central to the exhibition space will be a studio environment hosting an extensive programme of masterclasses, talks and demonstrations

Coty completes acquisition of Bourjois Cosmetics

Coty has announced it has acquired Bourjois Cosmetics from CHANEL for a consideration of approximately 15.43 million shares of Coty’s Class A Common Stock. Bourjois has a portfolio of colour cosmetic products that are sold through approximately 23,000 points of sale in more than 50 countries, across Western Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Bourjois was founded in 1863 by French actor Joseph-Albert Ponsin, who developed a line of colour cosmetics for his fellow actors.

SUQQU to launch Face Protector Brightup

SUQQU will launch their new Face Protector, Brightup, the latest addition to its sun protection line. The limited edition pearl SPF 50 offers an anti-ageing formula, which provides UV protection for skin by filtering out UVA and UVA rays. Used alone, or under make-up, it provides high SPF protection without a chalky white look. The formula illuminates skin leaving it with a healthy natural glow, while the water-based cream is developed with flat zinc-oxide ADVAN (anti-damaging UV-A network) and water-resistance zinc oxide, creating a long lasting UV veil that is water and sweat resistant. (£40)

Real Techniques unveils their Sculpting & Concealer brushes

Real Techniques has announced the launch of its new Sculpting Brush and Concealer Brush. The Sculpting Brush features a wide angled head, specifically designed to help create defined contours; while the Concealer Brush features an angled cut provides precision applications to camouflage skin imperfections and is designed to cover blemishes and under eye circles. The brushes are made with 100% cruelty-free, ultra plush bristles that help create high-definition results. The brushes are currently available online at realtechniques.com and at Superdrug prior to their Boots launch. (£7.99-£9.99)

MAC Cosmetics reveals details of Mia Moretti and Philip Treacy collections

MAC Cosmetics latest collaborations are with Mia Moretti and Philip Treacy and will culminate with limited edition collections. Debuting in sync with the summer festival season, the Mia Moretti collection includes Who’s The DJ? Lip Palette, comprising six shades with amplified finishes: Desert Sun (creamy nude), Weekend 1 (bubblegum pink), She’s a Peach (bright salmon), Weekend 2 (lilac), Umbrella Sky (sky blue) and Vintage Radio (green); Lipstick in Maria Moretti (cherry red amplified) and High Tea (beige pink with pearl in lustre); Cream Colour Base in Desert Roadtrip (golden bronze) and Summer Wind (sand shimmer); Casual Colour in Puttin’ On The Spritz (intense coral) and P.S. I Like You (coronation pink); as well as a Mia Moretti Tote Bag and Make-up Bags.

The Philip Treacy collection takes inspiration from Philip’s work to create a trio of headpieces that showcase the structure of the face, offering a collection of products that enhance the facial features. The range includes High-Light Powder in Nude Pink (champagne with silver) and Blush Pink (light pink with silver); Lipstickin No Faux Pas (yellow-toned hot pink matte), Cardinal (yellow burgundy red) and Hollywood Cerise (magenta berry); Fluidline eyeliner in Royal Wink (bright ink blue), Blue Peep (flat teal) and Blacktrack (true black); and Pro Longwear Paint Pots in Chrome Angel (platinum silver) and Genuine Treasure (gold).  (£15.50-£35)

Clarins to launch After Sun Shimmer Oil

Available in May, Clarins has created its limited edition After Sun Shimmer Oil, a lightweight oil with subtle iridescence that nourishes and illuminates the body with a soft golden shimmer. The product contains fine flecks of golden shimmer to enhance a tan without an oily texture. Key ingredients include hazelnut oil, which provides comfort after sun exposure; vitamin E, to protect skin from external aggressions; and essential oils of mandarin, grapefruit, ylang ylang and tonka bean for scent. The brand will also be launching its Aquatic Treasures make-up collection for SS15 in May. The range will comprise products that illuminate to provide a glowing complexion (£32).

Face Lace unveils latest make-up design collections

New from Face Lace are design collections that fuse SS15 and AW15 trends, the range includes: Starway2 Heaven, featuring a constellation of 70’s style mixed star shapes inspired by Tommy Hilfiger and Anthony Vaccarello catwalk shows; OpTart, includes holographic details and is inspired by optical artists and the Miu Miu and Pucci catwalk looks; Love Me Tendril, available in two colour-ways, was inspired by looks from Valentino and Cavalli, and features delicate motifs to create a Paisley pattern using a new method of production where layers dovetail together to create a 3-D effect; Stained Glasstra, is inspired by stain glass windows where holographic foil is laid under black outlines to shine through a kaleidoscope rainbow. This geometrical trend was seen on Gareth Pugh and Ungaro creations; Stained Glassto, takes inspiration from the Art Nouveau period and recent catwalks by Bora Aksu, Alberta Feretti and Badgley Mischka, and features stained glass window style designs with crystals. Lily Lolo has announced the launch of its Parisian Spring Collection, inspired by the natural beauty make-up trend showcased on the SS15 catwalks. Focusing on a minimal fresh-faced look with subtle contouring and neutral tones, the new collection includes: Pressed Eye Shadow in shades In for a Penny (metallic bronze brown) and Buttered Up (demi-matte champagne); Natural Lip Gloss in High Flyer (burnt orange); and Pressed Blush in Life’s a Peach. Models Own has announced the launch of its Festival Collection, ahead of the summer festival season. It includes four bright capsule collection products across hair, face and nails. The Festival Nail Polish offer four block colour polishes and one multi coloured glitter top coat, including Green Fields, Blue Skies, Purple Bandana, Pink Wellies and Colour Explosion. The new Festival Hair Spray is highly pigmented and bold and is available in four shades, including Neon Pink, Neon Blue, Neon Orange and Neon Violet. Better known for their nail colours Ciaté has unveiled its first full collection of colour cosmetics. Bourjois has announced the launch of its Swimming Cool collection for summer. For the complexion, the range includes Aqua Blush 12 Hours, which offers an ultra-fluid gel texture that boosts skin’s freshness and brightens the complexion. The product is available in Ingé-Nude, Cocoricorail, Pink Twice and Berry Nice. For lips, the Sweet Kiss Gloss provides 10 hours hydration has contains a vegetable oil-enriched serum formula that doesn’t feel sticky on the skin. The product combines long-wear, comfort and pure translucent colours in shades: Sand-Sation (beige), Rose Qui Peut (frosty pink), As De Pink (grenadine pink), Incogni-Rose (nude pink), Orange Pressée (tangerine) and Carton Rouge (pink red). Parfums Givenchy to launch Le Rouge-À-Porter

Parfums Givenchy has announced the launch of Le Rouge-À-Porter, a new lip balm that comes two years after the launch of the Le Rouge Givenchy lipstick. The product offers a balance between lipstick and lip care, with a new formula that nourishes lips while providing a sheer colour. Packaged in a real leather case, it is available in a range of 16 colours across three colour categories: Les Naturels, from powdery beiges to pale browns; Les Roses, which range from Rose Aristocrate to Corail Décolleté; and Les Créations, bold shades from an intense vermillion to mocha.
