For this year’s Warpaint Demonstrations at Professional Beauty London, we’ve come out of the lecture rooms and will be up close and personal on the show floor. The Warpaint Live Stage is brand new for 2015 and we’ve put together a dazzling array of experts who will be showcasing incredible make-up skills from world class bodypainting to beauty make-up, bollywood and burlesque.
Hosted for the first time by Armand Beasley, visitors are invited to drop by to watch the incredible transformations as well as chat to our artists while they work.
Meet our speakers:
Our host with the most, Armand Beasley has created looks for Hollywood royalty like Goldie Hawn to international royalty including HRH the Sultanah of Pahang. Closer to home he has worked with Myleene Klass, actresses Angela Griffin and Michelle Keegan and singing sensation Lesley Garrett, as well as a range of high profile U businesswomen.
He has extensive training in skincare, make-up and fragrance with the UK’s major cosmetic companies and is regularly approached for expert commentary on beauty and style across the media. Based in the UK, Armand has featured in magazines including Vogue, Grazia, Harpers Bazaar, Now and Closer, on Channel 4’s How to Look Good Naked, Channel 5’s Celebrity Super Spa and Discovery Home & Health’s Fakeover show. He also regularly appears on national and international radio shows as an industry expert. On stage Armand will be sharing his passion and knowledge of what’s in your make-up, as well as showcasing some of his favourite natural beauty brands and demonstrating how to use them.
Jennie Roberts and Catriona Finlayson
Jennie has been a freelance Face & Body Artist since 2007, typical work for her ranges from local birthday parties right through to high profile film premieres. She is the founder of the UK’s largest bodypaint event, Paintopia Face and Body Painting Festival that is held annually in Norfolk. Originally a Science Teacher, Cat has been a freelance Face & Body Artist for almost 8 years. She has won numerous awards for her amazing skills over the years and along with Jennie as assistant and Laurence as Model she competed in the World Bodypainting Championships in Austria this summer making it through to the finals. On the Live Stage, Jennie and Cat will be demonstrating Pop Fashion-inspired freehand glitter tattoos, another skill celebrated at their Body Painting Festival. Often used for weddings, hen nights and dancers/ performers, the stunning sparkling artwork glimmers with every breath, is waterproof and can last several days.
Saima Kiran will be taking us through traditional Asian bridal make-up. As a make-up artist with many years’ experience in Asian weddings, fashion shows and events, Visitors will be taken through a step-by-step guide to a bridal look with a twist to satisfy even the most demanding client.
Gemma Horner, is the rising star of the Kryolan UK and international Pro Team, will be demonstrating Cosmetic Camouflage using the Dermacolor range. Dermacolor is a highly pigmented range that is designed to give coverage to the skin discolorations including: scars, varicose veins, rosacea, vitiligo, under-eye circles, thread veins, liver spots, birthmarks, acne scarring and even tattoos. But Gemma has many strings to her MU bow and she will also take to the stage on Monday. Here she will present a demonstration into achieving a girl’s dream make-up. Taking inspiration from top celebrity beauty looks, this includes highlighting and contouring, how to achieve the sultry, seductive smokey eye in gorgeous, earthy tones and the beautiful fashion trend of an ombre lip.
Julia is a London based Make-up & Body Artist with 22 years’ experience of working in fashion, theatre, film & TV. Her freelance work includes: ENO production of Cellini, My Sweet Valentine, Call the Midwife and Makeup Artist for the Katie Piper Foundation Julia has also combined her freelance career with working as an educator until 2013. Firstly at the London College of Fashion and then developing the BA Hons & the HND Specialist Makeup course at West Thames College over a 10 year period. In 2013 Julia launched her own range of metallic leafs and glitters named JT Makeup Julia will aim her presentation at young artists starting out in their careers. Topics include: Career Development; Planning & Prep; Skills & Training; Creating sustainability in your career and Social Media & Marketing
Terri has worked as a professional make-up artist since 2003, after training for two years at Westminster Adult Education School covering all aspects of make-up. She has worked on numerous fashion shows, photo shoots, film and theatre productions and her prestigious list of clients include Daphne Barak (daughter of ex Prime Minister of Israel) Daryl Hannah and the Saudi Arabia Royal Family. She has worked for photographers Alison Jackson, Carolyn Cowan, Antonio Leanza and many others. An experienced educator, Terri runs workshops and private 1-2-1 sessions at Charles Fox, while her background as a cabaret performer and working with drag queens from Soho’s legendary Madame JoJo’ has widened her artistic flare on vintage looks which she incorporates into her drag transformations. For Warpaint Live, Terri will demonstrate the art of Burlesque make-up. Here she will share her way of creating luminous skin, sexy feline eyes and signature lips that will last during any performance. Drawing upon her many years work in drag and beauty make up, she incorporates the two techniques to create a strong seductive look.
