Burberry unveils SS15 make-up collection

The SS15 make-up collection, inspired by the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear SS15 ‘The Birds and the Bees’ collection launches this month. The collection introduces colour previewed on the catwalk, including new Burberry Eye Colour Wet & Dry Silk Shadows, Limited Edition Burberry Runway Blush Palette and Burberry Nail Polish. The Wet & Dry Silk Shadow is blendable and easy to apply, featuring a weightless formula that provides a silky smooth finish. A versatile eye shadow, it can be applied dry for a natural, buildable look, or wet for more intense colour effects and precision lines. Shades include Aqua Green, Stone Blue, Rose Pink and Tea Rose. The powder Blush Palette includes Pink Azalea and Bright Coral red shades that sit alongside a nude-coloured illustration of a cloud and the embossed ‘Rain or Shine’. The new limited edition shades of Nail Polish include: Hydrangea Pink, Bright Coral Red and Pink Azalea or Stone Blue, Aqua Green and Imperial Blue. (£15-£45)

Chanel names Global Creative Director and Make-up and Colour Designer

Italian make-up artist Lucia Picas has been appointed by Chanel as their Global Creative Make-up and Colour Designer. A freelance make-up artist since 2008, Lucia brings her creativity, distinctive colour expertise and her modern interpretation of beauty to the brand. Lucia perfected her craft by working with independent style magazines and key international publications where she collaborates with a group of leading photographers who are known, like Picas, for setting innovative agendas in modern beauty and fashion.

Bourjois to launch Silk Edition

Silk Edition is a new face powder from Bourjois that provides a matte complexion that lasts for eight hours, evening out blemishes and dark spots. The crystalline powders contained in the formula preserve the brightness of the skin without drying it out. The brand has enhanced soft focus technology so that the corrective pigments are precisely measured. Creating a bare skin effect, the formula melts and has an undetectable finish. The product comes with a rotating mirror and a soft sponge and is available in six shades: Porcelaine, Beige Rosé, Vanille, Beige Doré, Miel Doré and Halé (£8.99)

Paul & Joe Beauté’s Spring 2015 collection

The spring 2015 collection from Paul & Joe Beauté has been inspired by exotic creatures of the world. The new limited edition Face and Eye Colours are available in three varieties with four colours, each embossed with a hippopotamus (accent colour), cat (eye colour), swan (highlight colour) and elephant (cheek and eye colour). The Lipstick is available in shades: Renard (beige), Ménagerie (rich coral) and Canari (apple red). Lipstick Cases feature three patterns including: giraffes and parrots; monkeys and flowers; and fuzzy cats. The brand has also announced the launch of a new collection of Eye Gloss and Pressed Powder. Colours appear clear and vibrant and include: Secret d’Or (silver gold), Firmament (02 pale blue with silver), Angel’s Wings (pearlescent pink), Crème Brûlée (caramel) and Antique Coin (orange). The Press Powder base contains hybrid cut powder which allows a smooth, even application and long-lasting finish. Sebum-absorbing powder works to absorb excess oil during the day, while a poreless powder diffuses reflected light. The powder contains Secret d’Or, Clear Plate Powder and plant-based emollients and is available in two shades: (pale pink) and (multi beige). (£7-£28)
