Rimmel London launches Royal Plush Christmas Collection

Benefit Cosmetics to launch Bling Brow service & kit

Budget retailer Poundland launches make-up collection


Poundland has announced the launch of Make Up Gallery, a new and exclusive collection of make-up. The gallery will offer an array of products, from foundation and concealer to suit a variety of skin tones, to eye make-up and lipsticks. Of the 100 strong range, key products include: Long lasting foundation with UVA/UVB filters, Volumising and Lengthening Mascara with conditioning formula, Quick Dry Nail Polish, Sheer Lip Gloss with moisturiser and Pressed Powder with vitamin E. Initially, the range will be available across 480 stores nationwide, developing over time to reflect trends and seasonal changes, while still keeping essential everyday items, all priced at £1.

Illamasqua announces winners of 2014 Distinction in Make-up Artistry


Illamasqua has announced the winners of its 2014 Distinction in Make-up Artistry Awards featured on Warpaint last weekThe awards celebrate undiscovered talent and give aspiring make-up artists and beauty enthusiasts the chance to showcase their work in front of industry professionals. The awards feature three main categories encompassing all levels of experience: Working Professional Make-Up Artist, Make-Up Student and Non-Professional. Entrants endured a three step process of an initial photographic application, live competition and public vote. Judges included Illamasqua Creative Director Alex Box, Illamasqua founder Julian Kynaston and Head of Illamasqua Professional Development, Spob O’BrienJemma Grace from London was awarded in the Professional Category and Klaire de Lys from Reading won the award for Non-Professional, while Lea Toussaint from Paris took home the award for the Student category. In addition, Minx Hafon from Melbourne, Australia was awarded in the Illamasqua Team category.

BD Barbara Daly Make-Up at Tesco has announced its relaunch as BD Trade Secrets, featuring new packaging and formulations. The whole make-up collection has been redesigned, while still upholding an affordable price tag(£3.99 – £9.99). BD launched in 1998 by make-up artist Barbara Daly; while now Abby Ireland, prestige make-up artist, has worked with Tesco to develop new and improved products that have been created in Paris and Milan.  Key products include: Luminescence Silk Primer, Vital Skin Long Wear Foundation, Dream Shine Highlighter; Va Va Boom Volumising Mascara; Intense Eyes Eyeliner Pen; Light Effect Concealer Pen, Velvet Cream Lipstick; Velvet Cream Cheek Colour; Pure Matte Lip Melts; and Finishing Powder.

Excess Shimmer Eye Shadows from Max Factor

New Tangle Angel brushes from Richard Ward

Professional detangling brush brand Tangle Angel created by hairdresser Richard Ward has created two new brushes for the collection.  Tangle Angel Xtreme (£18.95) features longer, denser bristles and extra large head, making it ideal for longer hair. The brush features antibacterial additives embedded in the plastic, as well as anti static properties to prevent static and flyaway hair.  Available in Soft Touch Black with either Neon Pink, Neon Turquoise or Black bristles, thbrush is heat resistant, remaining shape when used with high temperatures generated by hairdryers.

CHANEL 2014 Christmas make-up collection


Collection Plumes Précieuses de Chanel, is the Christmas 2014 make-up collection (£18 – £47) Camélia de Plumes, exclusive to the collection, is a light and refined illuminating powder with shimmers blended in a platinum shade; for the eyes, the collection includes Les 5 Ombres de Chanel Oiseaux de Nuit, an eyeshadow palette comprising warm and cold tones of grey, purple and black; Stylo Yeux Waterproof or Blanc, an illuminating eye liner; Illusion D’Ombre Envol, a long-lasting cream eyeshadow in a peach shade; and Inimitable Intense Essential Noir, a mascara that enhances lashes to extend, plump and curl. For lips, products include: Rouge Allure Velvet in shade La Flamboyante (a fiery red) and RougeAllure in Volage (peachy pink). Also in the collection is Joues Contraste, a soft and natural peach tone powder blush with silver pearl; and Le Vernis Phénix nail polish to match the La Flamboyante red lipstick.

The Holiday make-up collection from Urban Decay (£22 – £42) has a plethora of new colours and products beginning with the Vice3 eye shadow palette, comprising 20 never seen before shades. The palette is sleeker than previous Vice versions, with every shade of shadow comprising a metallic finish. The product also includes A Vice3 bag, plus exclusive shadow and crease brushes. The new Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body contains a lightweight, baked powder that features light-reflecting particles to create a luminous, radiant look. Available in two shades including Luminous (champagne shimmer) and Aura (soft pink shimmer), there’s a handy mirror and brush housed in a compartment underneath the powder.  Also in the collection is the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set, comprising 10 eye pencils: one full-size and nine travel-size, and a Grindhouse Double Barrel Sharpener; as well as the 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil Set, each containing a black shade and a colourful shade. Completing the collection is Shadow Box, featuring 12 shadows, from pale to deep and matte to sparkly shades.
