Burberry Beauty unveils new eye make-up collection


Burberry Eyes is a new collection of eye make-up products from the Burberry stable.  The collection includes the Effortless, Bold Lash and Curve Lash Mascaras  (£23) as well as a liner and brow collection featuring Effortless Eyebrow Definer (£22.50), Liquid Eyeliner (£23) and Kohl Eyeliner  (£18).  Suki Waterhouse is the face of this new collection.

Penhaligon’s support for Movember


Penhaligon’s is continuing its support for Movember as the official sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.  The brand has supported Movember in a variety of ways, introducing a pop up barbershop in its flagship boutique in Covent Garden, an annual Moustache Awards on social media channels and an exclusive Moustache Wax.  Due to popular demand, the Moustache Wax (£5) will return to stores and online this November.  Lightly scented with Sartorial; a contemporary interpretation of a classic Fougère, Penhaligon’s are donating £2 for every tin sold directly to Movember to support men’s health charities.

Hourglass Cosmetics to launch bespoke service at Liberty

This autumn, Hourglass is introducing a beauty bespoke service exclusive to luxury department Liberty, in which clients can customise their own version of the Ambient Lighting Palette, similar to brand’s Ambient Lighting Palette finishing powder palette, which was originally introduced for holiday 2013 and sold out in a few weeks.  Available for a limited time only, clients will be able to choose from a collection of six best-selling, light-diffusing powders (Ethereal Light, Dim Light, Luminous Light, Diffused Light, Mood Light, Radiant Light) to create a portable palette designed expressly for their needs.  Ambient Lighting Powder captures, diffuses and softens the way light is reflected on skin, brightening the appearance, concealing imperfections, and creating a soft-focus glow.

MUA Makeup Academy adds to PRO-BASE range

MUA Makeup Academy has introduced new CC products (£4) into their PRO-BASE range.  Designed to help banish imperfections across all skin tones, each cream is formulated to target particular issues and to help achieve a flawless complexion.  The Prime & Conceal Palette consists of five correcting cream shades: Lilac which illuminates and mutes yellow undertones; Green to neutralise and reduce redness; Yellow for brightening and concealing purple tones; Peach that adds radiance; while the Middle colour highlights.  To accompany the cream the Prime & Conceal Powder is a silky smooth baked powder featuring four different shades to even out the skin tone and illuminate.  The easy glide powdered formula instantly brightens and can be worn over make-up or alone for that added glow.

New Pencils from Eye of Horus


Eye of Horus’ newest launch, Scarab Sapphire, is the latest shade added to the Goddess Eye Pencil collection.  The shade will add a bit more definition to the eyes as a liner, but when quickly smudged it will also perform as an incredibly long-lasting indigo blue eye shadow with a fresh satin finish.  Eye of Horus’ Goddess Eye Pencils are exceptionally highly pigmented and easy to apply with a smudging applicator on the reverse end.  The formulas are waterproof, smudge-proof and long lasting.

Bon Noel from Givenchy


This month sees the introduction of Givenchy’s festive launches, the Folie De Noirs collection that uses a mix of mysterious black and mother-of-pearl for a sophisticated look.  The Le Prismissime Yeux Noirs En Folie palette (£40.50) contains nine black shadows in shades ranging from plum to bronze with an iridescent pearly sparkle.  Phenomen’eyes (£23) is available in the limited edition Bleu Folie shade and coats the lashes in midnight blue.  The Ombre Couture line sees the new shade of Noir Sequin, a black cream with metallic shimmer, which can be used as a base for Le Prismissime Yeux.  The collection features two limited edition lip shades: Prune Folie (£22) in the Rouge Interdit line and Nacres En Folie (£20.50) in the Gelée d’Interdit line, both of which work with the pH of lips to offer a bespoke shade.  Additionally, Le Vernis Givenchy (£15.50) features two new shades, Noir Satin and Folie Scintillante.

THE PROSTHETICS EVENT 16th November 2014

The Prosthetics Event is the newest offering from Neil Gorton, Dr Who maestro and director of Millennium FX, the award-winning make-up and SFX company, and is for those passionate about prosthetics, make-up effects, animatronics, masks, monsters, sculpture, mould making, puppets, face painting and body art for film, television, theatre, live events, education, cosplay, and casualty simulation.

The Event is located at the Aston Conference Centre in City Centre Birmingham, chosen to reflect the fact that prosthetics and FX is practiced by people right across the UK and not just in London.  Being in Birmingham, it’s in easy reach of much of mainland UK and will be a mixture of educational demonstrations and talks and a chance to shop with some of the leading materials, make up and equipment suppliers. Those already attending include: Charles Fox, Mouldlife, Screenface London, BenAm, Neill’s Materials, Neill Gorton Prosthetics Studio, Millennium FX and MFX Warehouse.

A capsule within the Event is The Monster Mash, a gathering place for fans and aficionados of monsters in films, TV, concept art, masks, fine art and cosplay.  At its heart is an exhibition of fantastic monster creations and surrounding it will be some of the artists themselves practicing their craft.  In addition there will be dealer tables where makers and artists can sell their creations.  For more information click here.

Clarins unveils The Essentials Mineral Eye Make-Up Palette


Clarins has released their The Essentials Mineral Eye Make-Up Palette (£35).  The palette comprises 10 wearable shadows which feature a wet and dry formula that provides a long lasting, silky and blendable pressed mineral powder eye colour.  Shades include vibrant gold to grey in a variety of matte, satin and pearl finishes.  The compact also contains a mirror and wooden double-ended applicator: one for defining the eye and one for shading and blending.

Illamasqua to launch limited edition Facets collection


Facets is the new limited edition collection of make-up and brushes from Illamasqua.  The new Multi Facet Palette (£45) offers versatility through a combination of eye and cheek colours that also come with a double ended brush for application.  Two palettes are available, including Semblance and Aura. The Mini Brush Set contains five everyday make-up brushes in a compact case, which also offers a detachable make-up bag.  Brushes include: Powder Brush, Eye Shadow Brush, Blending Brush, Angled Brush and Lip Brush.  The new Make-Up Bag is a clutch style with convenient wipe clean outer fabric.  Also in the collection are two new shades of Glamore Lipstick: Starkers (rosy colour) and Salacious (raspberry red).  Both lipsticks offer a matte texture.
