Last weekend, admist the mania of the Nailympia Event at Olympia Beauty, The Art of Make Up and Art of Bodypainting competitions were also in full swing. Sponsored by Mistair and judged by some truly inspirational judges, Warpaint rounds up the days and the winners.
The Art of Body Painting competition was judged by Julia Townend, Lee Pycroft, Shaunna Harrison, Phyllis Cohen, Millie Kendall and Mona Turnbull. The theme for Art of Body Painting was Metropolis and contestants were expected to use their creative skills to create a variety of unique looks. They were encouraged to think Dystopia, Regeneration, Gravity, Industrial and Metals.
The winner of the Professional category was Anke Van Grinsven who won a Mistair Solo Pro Compressor, Mistair SL1000 Airbrush, Mistair mistFX Aqua Body Paint Starter Kit and training voucher.
The winner of the Student category was Charli Baker who won a fabulous industry day on set / location with World Body Painting Champion, Carolyn Roper, and a Mistair mistFX Aqua Body Paint Starter Kit and training voucher.
The Art of Make-up competition was judged by Nicci Jackson, Luke Stephens, David Horne, Louise Young and Deanna V’Icevska. With the theme Futurism, the judges wanted competitors to create forward thinking designs with quirky interpretations. The winner of the Professional category was Stefanija Vektere who won an exclusive Mistair Solo Pro Compressor, Mistair SL1000 Airbrush, Mistair Professional Make-up Starter Kit and training voucher.
The winner of the Student category was Holly Brooker who won a once in the lifetime prize to have an industry day on set / location with Celebrity Make-Up Artist – René Metcalfe. René heads up her own make-up team for catwalk, BBC and ITV shows, including Dancing on Ice. René was awarded the ‘Royal Television Society Award Best Makeup for Entertainment and Non Drama. The winner also received a Mistair professional make up starter kit and training voucher.
