Laura Mercier introduces Smooth Finish collection
Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide foundation and Smooth Finish Foundation Powder are the latest base products from Laura Mercier. Designed to deliver universally wearable, perfecting, smoothing, matte and oil free formulas (£34) these products provide a blurring effect for a smooth complexion. Both powder and fluide formulas feature modern, ultra-light weight textures that are comfortable and flex with the skins natural movement. Containing Hydro-Brilliant Technology, reflective waters and natural silica create natural colour-true shades. Available for all skin-tones and types, there will be 24 shades available.
Make-up brand delilah launches
There’s a new kid on the make-up block in the form of delilah, whose creative team comprises Rupert Kingston, Hannah Nicholson and Juliet White. Rupert spent many years in the industry as a make-up artist and Creative Director, and has developed numerous award-winning cosmetics. Hannah has had a long career as a beauty buyer specialised in product development and working with some of the world’s most prestigious cosmetics manufacturers. Juliet, a photographer whose work has featured in The New York Times and Rolling Stone, brings her expertise in imagery, graphics and design to the brand. Inspired by quintessentially English influences, the capsule collection of make-up tools, face, eyes, cheeks and lip make-up products (from £20) and are encased in a traditional semi-precious pewter coloured metal with gold accents that run throughout the line. Semi-Permanent Brow Pen from Blink Brow Bar
New to the fast moving brow market are semi permanent pens and this week sees Blink Brow Bar bring theirs to the party. This pen (£18) is an eyebrow liner that helps create a natural yet defined look. Featuring a defining tip for ultimate control, the product creates a precise and smooth application, while the water-based formula is smudge-proof and quick drying. The Brow Pen is available in two colours and will last up to 10 hours.
MAC Cosmetics announce collaborations with Brooke Shields and Rihanna
MAC’s rolling programme of collaborations hasn’t lost any speed over summer with two new launches. First is the partnership with model, actress and former child star Brooke Shields, with a collection of make-up products premiering this October. Encased in grey packaging with bright orange accents, the range includes: Bronzing Powder in Scone and Neutral shades; Gravitas eye shadow palette featuring 15 shades; Veluxe Pearl Fusion Shadow in Mortal and Trusted Instinct shades; Veluxe Brow Liner in Brunette muted mid-tone grey; Brow Set in Clear; Opulash Optimum Black mascara; Lipstick in Gospel (sheer burgundy and Excite (bright orange red); Lipglass in Artful (soft coral) and Knockout (bright orange red); Crème Colour Base in Cherished (bright coral pink/soft burgundy rose); and Nail Lacquer in Dignity (soft coral) and Pricey (deep burgundy).
The launch of MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 marks the second collection with the singer, offering a new shade of Lipstick and Lipglass to the collection. Viva Glam Rihanna II Lipstick is available in a warm mauve with silver frost, while the Lipglass shade is a cool mauve with red frost. The full RRP (minus VAT) from each sale goes towards helping women, men and children everywhere affected by HIV and AIDS.
Oriflame relaunches the ONE 5-in-1 Wonder Lash Mascara
Oriflame has relaunched the ONE 5-in-1 Wonder Lash Mascara this week. This best selling mascara (£10.95) from the brand has sold 40 million units to date and is a versatile multi-tasker, creating volume, stretching length, lifting and bending the lashes, to care for and separate giving a defined look. Containing spherical defining powders to give a smooth application, this new formula produces an even coating across the lashes, with added panthenol to cares for lashes and helping them to retain moisture whilst hydrating the roots. The signature double-sided plastic brush remains the same with the row of short bristles builds and thickens lashes while the longer bristles lengthen.
BeauFort London launches Moustache Finishing Wax
BeauFort London has launched with its first product, Moustache Finishing Wax. The brand was established by Leo Crabtree (drummer of The Prodigy) who wanted to create a brand that combined heritage and performance. The Moustache Finishing Wax is malleable and easy to apply. With a formula combining Somerset beeswax, argan oil, orange peel wax and shea butter, Leo has worked with a team of scientists, British craftsmen and designers. Available in a bespoke refillable case that is pocket sized and lightweight, the packaging absorbs body heat which softens the wax, making it easy to use. The case is carved from solid aluminium and features a stainless steel catch closure and swivel hinge. Topshop Beauty lays down the foundations with their facial beauty collection
The Face is Topshop Beauty’s first facial beauty collection. The hero product in the collection is The Foundation, which has been developed with advanced micronised silicone coated pigments to ensure optimum skin tone adaptability, adjusting to the wearer’s own personalised shade. The gelled formula glides smoothly and evenly to leave a weightless, medium coverage that lasts all day.
