Return of Face Off

Face Off returned to Syfy USA last week, with a brand new judge to stir things up – Lois Burwell!  Kryolan’s Facebook page has a sneak peek at some of the character designs from the first episode.  Fingers crossed they start showing the newer series here in the UK soon!

See more great looks here!

Cinema Make-Up School at IMATS LA

Check out this great variety of looks created by students and teachers at the Cinema Make-Up School (where the lovely Mike Spatola teaches) at last year’s IMATS LA show.  Shows are always such a great source of inspiration and talent, with incredible looks being created before your eyes.

We spotted @Horrific_Annie_FX’s  and @jenwrightmakeup‘s Instagram photos and were wowed by their variety. It’s always great to see young, emerging talent.

Aussie Awesomeness with The Make-Up Effects Group

The Make-Up Effects Group is definitely worth taking a look at.  With a Facebook page brimming with skilled creations for various projects, check out the Instagram account too which has some great, inventive snaps.

Twitterpated with @GortonStudio

Neill Gorton’s Studio is now on Twitter – along with great links to interviews, resources, interesting videos and pictures of what they’re working on. We like!

The Hobbit Returns

The internet has been buzzing this week with the release of the latest teaser trailer for the third Hobbit film, out later this year.  Prosthetics Supervisor Tami Lane has plenty of Middle Earth experience and this one looks to be as equally spectacular in terms of visuals and creature looks.

Sea Monkey by GoldieStarling

We spotted this amazing SFX look by another Cinema Make-Up School alumni, Angie.  Both her YouTube channel and Facebook page are well worth a look for fun, interesting character creations.
