Peachy Beach Sticks from Charlotte Tilbury

Beach Sticks from Charlotte Tilbury will be available this week.  The lip and cheek tints (£30) aim to deliver a smoothing and plumping finish and offer a light-reflecting wash of colour.  Shades include Formentera (berry), Las Salinas (pink), MoonBeach (rose gold), Es Vedra (red) and Ibiza (bronze).

The latest from the Lipstick Queen comes in the form of the Silver Screen collection (£35 each).  The lipsticks have a glossy, wet look finish given by new natural ingredient pomegranate sterols which improves the barrier function of the lips, keeping them soft and hydrated for longer.  Other natural ingredients such as beeswax, vitamin E and plant oils also nourish the lips.  Shades feature Come Up (vibrant baby rose), Made It (deep wine), Play It (hot pink), See Me (peach), Stella! (purple with turquoise), Have Paris (pillar-box red), and You Kid (nude).

The Ice Cream Collection from Stila will be available later this month.  The limited edition line has been created to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary and contains three Eyeshadow Trios (£18) and two Cheek Colour Duos (£16).  The eyeshadow formula delivers a cream smooth colour that can be used wet or dry and is available in shades Mocha Chip (pink nude), Neapolitan (brown nude) and Rocky Road (taupe nude) for £18.  Cheek Duos are available in Strawberry Cream Pop (peach pink and golden brown) and Creamsicle (baby pink and golden brown).

YSL Beauty has announced the launch of its new online platform #YSLEYESTYLE.  An online destination specialising in eye make-up, the platform teaches users how to create specific looks and includes video tutorials with YSL Beauty’s Head Make-up Artist Fred Letailleur.

Givenchy introduces Extravaganzia for A/W 2014


Autumn/Winter 2014 arrives from Givenchy in the shape of the Extravaganzia collection, featuring products for the eyes, lips, nails and face.  The Palette Extravaganzia (£45) contains a new shade of lipstick in a luminous, transparent pink, alongside four eyeshadows in satiny brown and purple, and shimmering silver and gold.  Blush Memoire De Forme (£23) is a non-sticky gel blush in Rose Extravagant, which contains 70% water for lightweight, comfortable wear.  Additionally, two limited edition Le Rouge Givenchy lipsticks (£25) are featured in shades Pourpre Inoui (intense burgundy) and Rose Extravagant (bright acid pink), and two Le Vernis Givenchy polishes (£15.50) come in Bronze Intense and Parure Scintillante, while the Noir Couture mascara is also featured in the shade Violet Etonnant (£23.50).

Beauty retailer MyShowcase has introduced Skincare ShakeUp events.  The events offer one-to-one skincare consultations, tailored advice and skincare recommendations.

New courses under Television Craft and Technical Bursary Scheme


July sees new courses from Profile Media Services which are supported by Creative Skillset Freelance Fund through the Television Craft and Technical Bursary Scheme.

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July is Cutting, Styling and Dressing Ladies and Gents Afro Hair.  This two day course is taught by Joy Dadji and is designed for freelance make-up and hair artists working in the film and TV industry, interested in updating their knowledge and skills in cutting and styling ladies and gents Afro hair.  Covering all hair types and textures, using a range of tools and equipment, cutting techniques will cover clipper over comb, scissor over comb, creating neckline shapes, patterns, etc using clippers.  Also covered are different types of braiding, corn rolling and plaiting, as well as the use of products especially for use on Afro hair.  The course covers all aspects of health and safety.  Full fees are £765, while freelance fees are £153

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July is Applying and Making up Vinyl Bald Caps to achieve different effects.  Tutor Shauna Harrison is delivering this course designed for freelance make-up and hair artists working in the industry who need to update their skills in applying and making up bald caps made from vinyl material to achieve different looks and effects.  Vinyl material is new and can be applied quickly and effectively, thereby saving time on the film schedule.  It is proven to be safe and hygienic. Delegates will be able to view their work on a HD screen.  Full fees are £1000, with freelance fees of £200.
