The town in question was Norwich as over 200 delegates and 50 body painting competitors and models gathered for the 3rd Paintopia Festival earlier this month. The event has gone from strength to strength with the winners and placed competitors raising the bar as far as UK bodypainting competitons.
The 2014 results were:
Bodypainter of the Year with Assistant
Sponsored by Charles H Fox
Theme – Vintage Britain
Judged by:
Current World Champion in both Face & Bodypainting, Matteo Arfanotti
Illusion Magazine, Claire Pick
Charles Fox Make Up Artist, Gemma Horner
International Instructors, Nick Wolfe & Pashur
This was the first year that organisers split the Bodypainter of the Year into two categories as they felt recognition for the efforts put in by the Assistants was worth. Assistants were allowed to help with base coat painting, hair, make up, props and accessories but not permitted to put detail onto the design.
