Based in the stunning setting of Dunston Hall in Norwich, this year’s Paintopia Face and Body Festival is taking place from 7th – 12th May and is the place to be for UK body and face artists.
Now in its 3rd year, there’s a host of workshops from the globally renowned artists, alongside competitions for pros and students, and a retail area for you to stock up on supplies from the best in the business.
Workshops features likes of Matteo Arfanotti, reigning World Champion in both Bodypainting and Facepainting after scooping both titles at the 2013 WBF in Austria. Paintopia will play host to his first every UK workshops which have proved so popular that they’re already sold out. Fear not, there is a reserve list – click here to register.
Also demonstrating their talents will be award winning Los Angeles body painter, Pashur, who is currently consulting on Skin Wars in the US, as well as Nick Wolfe, one half of Evil Twin FX, who, with his twin brother Brian, has taken bodypainting to another level.
Warpaint has teamed up with Paintopia to offer one of our readers the chance to win a place in the Student Bodypainter of the Year category. This is open to solo artists and consists of an upper body design paint only using airbrush and brush and sponge combined. You can use any or all of these to create your design. The competition has the theme of Vintage Britain and the organisers will kindly provide you with a model too. You’ll need to be a student or recent graduate (up to one year out of college) to be eligible to enter.
Judges are Matteo Arfanotti, Pashur and Nick Wolfe, along side Julie Oliver and Claire Pick from Illusion magazine which is sponsoring the Festival.

There’s another festival to add to your list of Summer dates in the form of The Living Art Show at St Mary Cray in Bromley, London on Saturday 5th July 2014.
The Living Art Show is a body painting festival and competition that showcases the talents of amazing body painters, who wish to inspire and share this incredible genre of art with the both public and pros.
The Bodypaint competition finishes with a catwalk show and prize giving, plus the first ever opportunity for models to take part in the live stage production of the Dance of the Time Machines.
Bodypaint categories for the 2014 event are: Earth and the Elements; Victorian industrialism and Sci-Fi.
Sponsored by Charles Fox, this is an opportunity for face and body painters to all come together with the most amazing team of industry creatives from film, costume and and props to showcase their work and to see their models perform live.
There’s plenty to see onsite including The Follies team of professional face and body artistes offering free workshops in all areas of makeup, casualty and special effects. Visitors will also see Cosplayers, live bands, food, arts galore and a Heritage and Retro area.
The arts and heritage festival is in conjunction with London Borough of Bromley and welcome any type of Living Art at the show.
