Burberry opens Burberry Beauty Box in Covent Garden
The epitome of English style, Burberry, has opened the label’s first ever global beauty store located in London’s Covent Garden. The launch follows the establishment of beauty as Burberry’s fifth product division in April 2013, with the store housing Burberry Beauty’s collection of make-up and fragrance, in addition to limited edition beauty products, accessories including sunglasses, scarves and an exclusive selection of bags. A new look will be revealed each month, available to experience in store while all products are gift-wrapped in exclusive Burberry Beauty Box gift packaging. Designed to ‘blur the physical and digital’, the space features a custom built screen in Burberry check; a Digital Runway Nail Bar; a 16ft digital chandelier showcasing monthly beauty content over multiple screens; and a till-free environment in which payments are taken using a mobile point of sale system on iPads and iPhones. A number of services are additionally available including one-to-one appointments with beauty stylists, Fragrance Discovery consultations and bespoke Beauty Refresh consultations for skin, eyes and lips.
Liz Earle reveals Limited Edition Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
Liz Earle has unveiled its spring/summer 2014 collection featuring a Radiance Glow Bronzer and Strengthening Nail Colours. The brand launches two new shades of nail polish next year (£7.50) in Awakening (candy pink) and Moonlight (pale grey), which both use a strengthening and long lasting formula. The bronzer (£19.50) offers a multi-tonal palette shimmer, designed to reflect light off the skin, highlight cheek bones and brow bones, and can additionally be applied onto the eyelids. Liz Earle Spring/Summer 2014 Colour Limited Editions launch in April 2014 for six months.
Max Factor unveils new mascara
January 2014 marks the launch of Max Factor’s Excess Volume Extreme Impact Mascara (£12.99). Originally trialled in the UK at the Felder Felder spring/summer 2014 show by Max Factor Make-Up Artist Mel Arter, the product is the brand’s first jet black, gloss finish mascara offering lash volume. It features two wands; Step 1 builds volume using the False Lash Effect Brush, while Step 2 glosses over lashes, thickening and sealing them to provide a smooth, intense jet black lacquer.
M&S collaborates with Holly Sharpe for s/s 2014
M&S has announced a collaboration with fashion illustrator Holly Sharpe on a spring/summer 2014 Limited Collection. The range of 19 products includes cosmetics, bags, fragrance, accessories and gifts, all featuring Holly’s Exotic Girl illustration. Make-up consists of matte lipsticks, quad eyeshadow palettes, blusher, kohl kajal eyeliners and double ended nail polishes, while accessories comprise of cosmetic bags, a badge mirror, an iPhone 5 cover, a manicure kit, and a set of false eyelashes, in addition to a floral fragrance. Holly Sharpe for Limited Collection will be available exclusively from M&S stores nationwide from January 9.
Shiseido presents new Lacquer Gloss shades
Shiseido is set to launch of two new Lacquer Gloss shades from beauty brand Shiseido. The new hues of purple are Nebula (shimmering violet) and Phantom (pale lavender), (£21). The Lacquer Gloss features a three-layer Lacquer Mechanism which firstly refines lip textures and smoothes fine lines, before adding clear, moisturising colour to create a base and then a vivid colour, while locking in moisture. Shiseido is available at House of Fraser and John Lewis.
Perfect Fusion Foundation from Oriflame
Oriflame has created the Perfect Fusion Foundation, a flexible, hydrating foundation with SPF 25. Infused with the brand’s HydraFix Complex, which helps to maintain a natural moisture balance, Perfect Fusion Foundation keeps skin comfortable and feeling hydrated all day. Perfect Fusion Foundation offers medium to high coverage that conceals all imperfections without weighing down the skin. Available in five shades: Porcelain, Ivory, Rose Beige, Natural Beige and Honey Beige, (£11.45) but will be available at a special launch price of £5.70 until 18th January 2014 (when bought through the Oriflame catalogue).
