We know it’s only November, but as the first Sunday of Advent is only 3 weeks away, Christmas will be here in the twinkle of a fairy light, but the prestige brands know it and have launched their festive Offering over the last couple of weeks. Usually limited and always full of sparkles, here are our favs
Lancôme Happy Holidays 2013 Winter Collection
This limited edition line from Lancôme comprises Hypnôse Velours Multi-Wear Eyeliner Patches (£28), Hypnôse Star Étincelle Édition (£22), a mascara in a silver and black formula; Hypnôse Ultra Dazzling Colours (£21) offering a highly pigmented, sparkling and waterproof mousse texture for eyes in shades Diamant Argenté, Émeraude Éternelle, Quartz Taupe and Saphir Noir; Highlighter Rose Étincelle (£35), an iridescent, pink powder to illuminate complexions; L’Absolu Rouge Swarovski (£25), a new version of the lipstick featuring hand-applied Swarovski Elements crystals; and Vernis In Love (£12.50) in half matte, half shimmer shades Étincelle d’Argent and Étincelle de Neige.
Chanel Christmas make-up collection
The highlight of the Christmas Collection from Chanel is the Eye shadow palette (£48) which includes five shades: soft beige, metallic beige, bronze khaki, bronze brown and dark matte purple to create the smokey-eye look. The sparkling Mascara Top Coat (£18) is designed to be worn either alone or over black mascara, a new shimmering top coat enchants with every brushstroke of sheer, bronze-platinum iridescence. The Chanel Nuit Infinie collection range also consists of Joues Contraste blush in Accent (£31); Poudre Universelle Libre natural finish loose powder in Moon Light (£36); Rouge Allure Velvet matte lip colour in La Désirée and La Précieuse (£25) and Rouge Allure satin lip colour in Radieuse (£25). The collection is available from November 15.
Instead of traditional colours of gold, silver and white, Guerlain’s Christmas collection offers hot pink hues. The Crazy Paris eye palette (£54) includes two grey and black matte powder liners and velvety and iridescent eye shadows in copper, beige, white and hot pink. Highly versatile, this eye palette can create a multitude of looks. With lipstick (£36) in deep pink and a compact pressed powder (£46.50) to revive winter skin, Guerlain have taken inspiration from the colours, sights and sounds in Paris.
Bobbi Brown Hollywood Glam Holiday 2013 Collection
Well it is the holiday season, and to celebrate Bobbi Brown introduces Hollywood Glam in the form of Old Hollywood Collection. Celebrating the glitz and glam of the silver screen sirens, the collection includes The Old Hollywood Eye Palette (£59) featuring nine stand-out shades from soft silver to charcoal shimmer. The new ink liner (20) has an improved formula and felt tip for ease of application. The Long Lasting Shadow Sticks (£20) include limited edition 24 karat and bronze and Old Hollywood Lip Colour (£22) is a timeless red in a Oscar golden case.
This Christmas MAC is launching three collections, Divine Night, Stroke of Midnight and the Nocturnals Collection. The MAC Christmas collection, Divine Night, includes 5 lipsticks (£16.50 each) – You’ve Got It is a pink with gold frost, Prepare for Pleasure is a magenta red and Private Party, is a plum mauve. Included are mineralise eye shadows with bright gold and Kohl eye pencils in intense black with pearl pigments in varying colours. The Stroke of Midnight collection includes eye, lip and cheek sets in black bags embellished with white and gold. M·A·C Nocturnals Pigments and Glitter (£20) are available in Silver and Violet, Green and Teal and Black and Gold. Nocturnals Lip Gloss (£20) provides high-impact colour in three sumptuous shades of coral, pink and nude.
Dior Golden Winter Christmas Collection
Lips are a focus of the Dior Golden Winter collection with five shades (£30 each); Diva, a ruby red; Etoile, a beige; Royale, icy rosewood; Winter, a brownish red and Minuit, a fuchsia. The Eye palette (£46) features three colour eye shadows and a black liner shade for a dramatic smokey eye just perfect for the holiday season. The Diorific Perfumed Illuminating Powder (£60) is a shimmering highlighter which smells of J’adore perfume.
The Christmas Collection from Givenchy is truly a thing of beauty. Created by Nicolas Degennes, the brand’s iconic creative director, the Ondulations D’Or palette (£85.50) is all about sparkle and shine. In a star-spangled package the eyeshadow of black and gold fused into a deep bronze is super versatile and is heated and pressed for longer, lighter wear. Phenomen’Eyes (£22) separates the gold and black into pure colour dust that together creates an intense bronze. The Lash Sparkles (£19) is literally gold dust. It comes in the form of a transparent non-sticky gel that adds twinkling stars to the lashes and is used over mascara to enhance the eyes. The limited edition Le Rouge Givenchy (£24) gives you two natural rose blushes infused with gold: Rose Precieux and Violine Precieux.
