The excitement is building, the entries are coming in thick and fast, The Warpaint Competition at Professional Beauty North is only one week away.
Four categories, specifically designed to test and challenge every aspect of the make up artists’ skill, will be judged by some incredible professionals. Each discipline will have their very own Speciality Judge who will concentrate on the finished entry, whilst highly experienced floor judges tackle every aspect of the competitors’ skill in application and technique.
For Manchester 2013 our floor judges are Chloe Gamblin and Kelly Hicks, Pro Make up Artists for Sparkle Box Studios; Rowena Fan otherwise known as beauty blogger Cosmetic-Candy.com and hair and MUA Sinead Buckley
With degrees in media makeup, Chloe and Kelly both have over eight years of experience working in the industry spanning from fashion and special occasion work to TV/film. They both have experience with well known productions and celebrity clients – McFly, Casualty, Deal or No Deal and various ITV shows to name a few.
Sinead Buckley, aka Beauty by Blondie, is a professional hair and makeup artist in the UK covering everything from fashion to editorial to catwalk and more. Her love of all things beautiful began when she started working part time for international make-up brand Benefit Cosmetics. Always known for her creative streak, having spent eight years in marketing and PR, looking after the branding of a leading company listed on the London, NY & Irish stock exchanges, Sinead has developed a career for herself that is exciting and varied and involves working with a host of stylists, photographers and talent.
Renowned beauty blogger, Rowena has been blogging about beauty since 2007 on www.cosmetic-candy.com and loves discovering new make up and talented artists. She is also a keen photographer and also writes about her other passions, being a new mum and cooking.
Our competitors have two hours to complete their look, and whilst a certain amount of preparation is allowed the majority of work needs to be demonstrated to our team of judges, who will be looking at every single detail. They need to be for the prize in each category is to take centre stage at this year’s Clothes Show Live at Birmingham’s NEC on Sunday December 8th.
Competing to be crowned Clothes Show Live’s Emerging Make-up Artist of the Year and with a real chance of breaking into the industry, we expect Warpaint North to be a humdinger of a tournament. For more information click here.
