Our timelines this weekend have been awash with the musings and Instagrams of the real and wannabe fashionistas. All the top dogs have been flying on the red-eye from NYC into the madness of London for the SS14 London Fashion Week, ready to report on what we’ll all be wearing next season.
Whilst the column inches spread further than the eye can see showcasing the clothes, here at Warpaint we wanted to look at the make-up that had so carefully been designed to perfectly complement the clothes. For our first report of the next make-up trends, we go backstage with Bourjois for the spectacular Zoe Jordan runway show.
This beauty look was inspired by a cool, skater girl, grown-up, relaxed, effortless beauty fused with a cyber-glow. Heading the make up team was Attracta Courtney, with nails by Marina Sandoval and team, using Bourjois.
“The make-up palette featured pearly silver toughened up by black Khol-rimmed eyes with an accent of blue to give the look an effortless, youthful beauty,” explains Attracta.
The collection showcased Jordan’s signature relaxed-fit tailoring, with a sporty spin in perforated lamb leather, metallic jacquard and structured blush wool. Upbeat and assured day-to-evening-wear dresses in leathers and silk collages sit alongside raw spray paint tees and dainty slip dresses.
Nails were coloured in an ultra-glossy soft white, which left the hands looking elongated, fresh and elegant.
The star product used to create the glowing luminous fresh complexion was Bourjois’ Java Loose Powder with its finely milled radiance. Cheeks were sculpted with cream blush in a rose pink. The powder was dusted onto the T-zone and cheeks for an extra glow and finishing touch. Black khol was applied to the water line of the eye in a less-than-perfect application for an effortless look, whilst blue khol was applied to the inner corner of the eye for a flash of colour. Silver cream eyeshadow was applied with finger tips over the eyelids and along the top of the cheek bone for a light-catching shimmer. Finally, lips sported a barely-there nude with a glossy finish.
